School Visits

Shanda would love to visit your school!

My 30-45 minute program centers around robots (fiction and non-fiction) and my new STEM-friendly book, Doll-E 1.0! Students will also learn about “secret stories” that only illustrators can tell, take away a few practical illustration tips, learn to draw two characters from the book, and bust a few robot dance moves too!

Targeted grades are K-2nd, but 3rd-5th will also enjoy a peek into the world of picture book writing and illustrating! (And let’s be real … ALL kids like robots :)

Day Rates (2-4 presentations):

  • Email for my current rates.
  • I am happy to adjust both timing and content to suit the school’s schedule and the students’ needs.
  • If you would like me to have lunch with a special group of students or lead an illustration workshop for older students, I can do those things too.

“I would certainly recommend Shanda to other schools and organizations. Each part of her presentation was age appropriate, informative, and kept each child’s full attention. The children LOVED her book Doll-E 1.0, and enjoyed meeting a “real live” author-illustrator.”
– Gina Chambers, Kindergarten Teacher
